Candy currency

I love the original and when I saw this I was incredibly happy. But dryer playing for a bit I realized that to at you needed to use the candy currency. This was irritating because on the hard levels it takes many tries to get three stars and it takes up a lot of your candy. You can of course pay real money or watch videos for four measly candy or wait thirty minutes to get ten more pieces honestly this irritates me why do we need a currency? Couldnt we just play the game without any other gimmicks?
